About
Hello! I recently completed my PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied how different types of cells in the brain are connected to each other in mice using imaging technology.
By far one of the most rewarding aspects of my job as a scientist was communicating work to others. I started out doing this in the academic setting, writing up research proposals and presenting at seminars. But, after completing my PhD minor in Life Sciences Communication Department, I discovered the #scicomm community. In September 2018, I started writing science stories for the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center’s e-newsletter. I was also the 2021 AAAS Mass Media fellow at The Dallas Morning News.
Feel free to reach out and say hi! I’m interested in all things science, especially the intersections between science and society. You can also find me on Twitter where I tweet about scicomm, race, and politics.
